Walking holidays are ideal if you stay at Peter House Farm. Located on the 'back road' to Skiddaw, Peter House is directly on the Skiddaw walking route, either up Ullock pike, Long side, Carl side and the summit or over Cockup, Broad End and onto the summit.

Alternatively, circumnavigate Skiddaw going past Skiddaw House, around Lonscale Fell, onto Latrigg, through Applethwaite and Millbeck and back to the cottage (a great Lakeland route for mountain bikers!)

Try heading up to Skiddaw House then turn left following the Cumbria Way. Head onto the High Pike (part of the Caldbeck fells), Low Pike then into Caldbeck village for a well deserving pint! Follow the Cumbria Way through Branthwaite back to Peter House.

Heading in a different direction, follow the footpath past Overwater Hall and onto Binsey which has fantastic panoramic views over Bassenthwaite and the Northern fells.
